This July 4th, Americans nationwide will celebrate our country’s 242nd birthday. Friends and family will gather to commemorate our great nation with picnics, outdoor fun and fireworks.
As we enjoy the cold beer, barbeques and other festivities this holiday, take a moment to remember what our founding fathers stood for: the safety and security of our nation and its citizens. As Americans today, it’s our responsibility to make smart decisions and, while a love of beer runs deep in our country’s roots, it’s especially important to “Drink Wiser” this Independence Day.
Over the years, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have invested more than a billion dollars in the national quest to instill responsible drinking habits and prevent alcohol-related incidents. To promote responsible celebrations this holiday weekend, Silver Eagle Distributors, the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, is working with area bars and restaurants to encourage revelers 21 and older to celebrate responsibly and designate a driver or make plans for a safe ride home. And in partnership with the Houston Restaurant Association, we will also be implementing programs such as Alert Cab, which provides free and discounted rides home for bar and restaurant patrons who may have had too much to drink. Driver’s License guides and We I.D. age calendars will also be used to assist in identifying and preventing those who are underage from purchasing and consuming alcohol.
However you celebrate this Independence Day, be sure to Drink Wiser and plan ahead for safe transportation. Wishing America a fun and safe Fourth of July 2018!
