Silver Eagle Distributors Partners with Budweiser and the Folds of Honor Foundation to Present Two San Antonio-Area Military Families with $10,000 in Educational Scholarships

SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 23, 2017) – Silver Eagle Distributors, San Antonio’s local Anheuser-Busch distributor, presented educational scholarships to local military families at the Armed Forces River Parade this past Saturday, May 20 in the Arneson River Theatre. The recipients were treated to a VIP experience at the parade and awarded with $10,000 in educational scholarships through a donation by Silver Eagle Distributors to the Folds of Honor Foundation (FOH) – an organization that provides post-secondary educational scholarships for families of U.S. military personnel killed or disabled while serving their country.

The two San Antonio-area scholarship recipients each presented with a $5,000 Folds of Honor scholarship were:

  • Marcus Greydanus, a graduating senior at Central Catholic High School, who will attend Texas A&M University this fall, planning to major in Public Health. He is the son of Sergeant First Class Dominique Greydanus, a retired Green Beret.
  • Raquel L. Castro, a junior at Holy Cross of San Antonio and a gold star child of Staff Sergeant Roland L. Castro.

The Folds of Honor Foundation scholarships can be applied to schooling now, or can be held by the foundation on behalf of young children until post-secondary enrollment.

“The scholarship recipients are the children of our local heroes. I feel honored that Silver Eagle Distributors has the opportunity to support these families that have given so much for our country,” explains John L. Nau, III, Chairman and CEO, Silver Eagle Distributors. “We are proud to be a part of this initiative and we welcome members of the San Antonio community to get involved in the effort by purchasing and toasting a Budweiser!”

Silver Eagle invites members of the San Antonio community to help honor local military families by purchasing Budweiser products with patriotic packaging now through May 29. For each purchase made of a Budweiser camouflage or Budweiser America can/bottle leading up to Memorial Day, Budweiser will donate 1 cent per can/bottle, up to $1 million, to the Folds of Honor Foundation.

For more than a century, Budweiser and its wholesalers have supported the nation’s military and its service men and women. Since 2011, Budweiser and its wholesalers have raised over $11 million nationwide for the Folds of Honor Foundation. Silver Eagle has contributed over $200,000 to the organization for student scholarships in the San Antonio and Houston area.
