Bud Light Named Official Beer of Houston Athletics

HOUSTON – Houston fans, ages 21+, will have the opportunity to enjoy an ice-cold Bud Light in the University of Houston Athletics’ venues when football season kicks off in a little over a month, thanks to a partnership naming Bud Light as The Official Beer of Houston Athletics. The just-announced agreement between UH, Houston-based Silver Eagle Distributors, Anheuser-Busch and IMG will include Houston football, basketball and baseball programs and is confirmed through 2021.

“As Houston’s local Bud Light distributor, Silver Eagle Distributors is thrilled to partner with our hometown team as they embark on another season of growth and success,” said John L. Nau, III, chairman and CEO of Silver Eagle Distributors. “We are excited about UH’s future and elated to be part of this exciting time in Houston college sports.’’

With the partnership, Anheuser-Busch will receive several assets in and around Houston’s football, basketball and baseball athletic programs along with the use of Houston Athletics trademarks in advertising and promotional materials.

Houston fans will also be able to experience Bud Light and other Anheuser-Busch products before and during games at the new Bud Light Beer Gardens’ at TDECU Stadium, Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park and in 2018 the new Fertitta Center. Bud Light will also be featured inside TDECU Stadium with a Party Deck and Club Level Bar for all football home games.

“We are excited to welcome Silver Eagle Distributors and Anheuser-Busch as our newest partners in the Houston Athletics family,” Houston Vice President for Athletics Hunter Yurachek said.

Anheuser-Busch and Silver Eagle’s ‘Enjoy Responsibly’ program will also be front and center through the partnership. In conjunction with UH Athletics and Aramark, programs including We I.D., which promotes responsible serving, and Good Sport, which promotes responsible fan behavior and encourages the use of designated drivers, will both be a part of the overall partnership.
