HOUSTON, TEXAS (April 30, 2013) – Silver Eagle Distributors, the nation’s largest Anheuser-Busch distributor, has begun construction on a more than $25 million distribution center in Pasadena, Texas. Located just a few miles east of downtown Houston at 3505 Pasadena Freeway, the approximately 400,000 square feet LEED-registered project sits on close to 50-acres and is expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2014. The addition of Pasadena will be the distributor’s eighth facility in Texas. In addition to its corporate headquarters and warehouse in Houston, Silver Eagle Distributors also operates six other distribution facilities located in Conroe, Cypress, Rosenberg, San Antonio, Carrizo Springs and Del Rio.
The new facility will serve as a warehouse for the broad portfolio of Silver Eagle Distributor’s brands and a storage facility for the distributor’s other locations. Once completed, the Pasadena distribution center will have the capacity to distribute six to eight million cases of product annually. Close to 200 Silver Eagle Distributors employees will office in the new facility, which will include offices for sales, fleet, training and administrative departments.
One of the most unique features at the Pasadena center will be its no-drive-thru loading dock, a unique new industry trend with an efficient design that allows multiple trucks to be simultaneously loaded. Additionally, the center’s 27 receiving docks will be equipped with a special technology that will alleviate congestion and streamline the unloading process for forklift drivers. Other features include a state-of-the-art warehouse management system, an insulated tilt-wall design and environmentally-friendly above-ground fuel storage tanks.
