HOUSTON (June 17, 2015)– Friends, family and fireworks will be part of many celebrations this Fourth of July. Silver Eagle Distributors, the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, reminds adults 21 and older that when alcohol is involved to do whatever it takes to get home safely. Call a friend, arrange for a cab, or add a designated driver or designated “skipper” to your Independence Day plans for a fun and safe holiday.

Locally, both during the Fourth of July holiday and year round, Silver Eagle Distributors offers the Alert Cab program to provide free cab rides home for bar and restaurant patrons who may have had too much to drink. For this upcoming holiday weekend, Silver Eagle Distributors and Anheuser-Busch offer the following safe celebration tips that everyone can incorporate into their holiday gatherings:
- Be a Responsible Host. Offer non-alcohol beverages for guests who do not drink alcohol and for those who are designated drivers and skippers. Always offer food when serving alcohol beverages, and stop serving alcohol beverages at least one hour before the party ends. Finally, make sure your guests have a safe ride home.
- Drive Safely. Make sure everyone in the vehicle wears a seat belt and everyone in the boat wears a life jacket. Always be alert and in control of your vehicle. Resist the urge to speed by making sure there is plenty of time to reach your destination.
- Be Responsible on the Water. Before hitting the water, check all equipment and brush up on boating safety. When on the water, obey all rules and regulations regarding distance, buoys, channel markers and no-wake zones. Make sure everyone in the boat wears a life jacket.
