Silver Eagle Distributors Teams with Anheuser-Busch to Urge San Antonio Residents to Make a Plan to Make it Home

SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 13, 2016) – Employees of Silver Eagle Distributors will celebrate Anheuser-Busch’s seventh annual Global Beer Responsible Day (GBRD) this Friday, September 16 by spreading Budweiser’s drunk-driving prevention message: Make a Plan to Make it Home.

Global Beer Responsible Day, started by Anheuser-Busch in 2010, is a day in which thousands of A-B employees and wholesaler partners educate their communities, including local San Antonians, about alcohol responsibility.

“At Silver Eagle Distributors, we’re determined to play our part in keeping our community safe,” said John L. Nau, President and CEO, Silver Eagle Distributors. “Global Beer Responsible Day is a great opportunity to come together and stress the importance of responsible drinking. The message is clear: take a cab or rideshare, call a friend, or designate a driver. Care enough to get home safely. No excuses.”

On September 16, Bud Ambassadors will be out visiting local bars to promote Global Beer Responsible Day. That same evening, the Bud Ambassadors will promote alcohol responsibility at the UTSA v. Arizona State football game at the Alamodome. Throughout the day, Silver Eagle employees will also be wearing red to promote GBRD while spreading the message to Make a Plan to Make it Home throughout the San Antonio-area.

Silver Eagle Distributors takes alcohol responsibility seriously and currently has many programs in place year round to promote responsibility. These programs include Alert Cab, a program that, in conjunction with the San Antonio Restaurant Association, helps provide free and discounted Yellow Cab rides home to bar and restaurants patrons who may have had too much to drink.

Also in place is the We I.D. program, which provides area bars and restaurants with tools to help identify fake I.D.s and prevent the sale of alcohol to minors. And new this year, Silver Eagle has partnered with Uber to provide discounted rides home to San Antonians on Friday evening in celebration of Global Beer Responsible Day.
