Silver Eagle Houston Raises over $100k for United Way of Greater Houston

HOUSTON, TX (Monday, October 31, 2022) During the company’s 2022-2023 United Way Campaign, the employees at Silver Eagle Distributors Houston rallied to raise a total of $107,220.28 for United Way of Greater Houston. This year’s total of over $100k surpassed the annual goal of $80,000 and the contributions included employee pledges and fundraising from their BBQ Cook-Off.  More than 90% of Silver Eagle Houston employees contributed to the campaign and since 2019, the company has raised over $307,000 for United Way of Greater Houston and its affiliates.

This year, all proceeds go to United Way of Greater Houston and five different affiliate agencies selected by employees: Easter Seals of Greater Houston, CY-HOPE, Inc., Avondale House, HYPE Freedom School, and Fort Bend County Women’s Center, Inc. These agencies assist with youth development, domestic violence recovery, and other community services in the local community.

In addition to financial donations, Silver Eagle Houston employees participated in an online simulation that puts you in the shoes of a household that doesn’t earn enough to afford the necessities of life. These families often must make impossible choices, such as deciding whether to buy food, pay for health care, or make rent. Many of these individuals are ALICE: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.

“Silver Eagle Houston supports over 130 different charities and nonprofit organizations throughout the year; however, United Way of Greater Houston is the only organization where we come together to support as one,” said Silver Eagle Houston President, John Johnson. “Year after year, our team raises thousands of dollars as a part of this campaign, and we are honored to be a part of it. It’s the least we can do to help those that are struggling in our local community.”
