Silver Eagle Houston Raises Over 7.5 Tons of Donations for Tackle Hunger’s Souper Bowl of Caring

HOUSTON, TX (Friday, February 24, 2023) – The employees at Silver Eagle Distributors Houston gathered this month to raise 16,629 lbs. of hard goods and $1,632 in monetary donations for the 2023 Souper Bowl of Caring Donation Drive. This year’s total surpassed the 2022 donation drive by over 10,000 pounds.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to give back and support the communities where we live and work,” says Silver Eagle Houston President, John Johnson. “One of our Operating Principles is relationships drive success: not only does that apply to our customers but it also applies to our relationships within our community and helping others.”

This year, all proceeds go to the Souper Bowl of Caring and five different affiliate agencies selected by employees: Yes to Youth Montgomery County Youth Services, Cypress Assistance Ministries, Kids’ Meals, YWCA Houston, and Rosenberg Richmond Helping Hands. These agencies assist with youth development, providing meals, domestic violence recovery, and other community services in the local community.

“Team Silver Eagle works annually to tackle hunger and understands the impact they can have on their communities,” says Souper Bowl of Caring Executive Director, Alison Reese. “These donations will provide over 20,000 meals to their neighbors in need and will help the charities get through the end of winter. Souper Bowl of Caring encourages participants and the public to continue to support food banks, soup kitchens, food pantries, and church pantries through donations and volunteering.”
