Armed Forces River Parade
Featuring Dr. Patsy Torres as this year’s Armed Forces River Parade Grand Marshal. This parade is dedicated to the men and women of the Armed Forces. Twenty-six patriotically-decorated floats carrying all 5 branches of military personnel ranks ranging from Active Duty to General. Patriotic music is played from the floats and on the Arneson River stage to serenade the floats throughout the 2 1/2 mile downtown area of the River Walk. We are proud to dedicate this year’s parade to the USO whom have supported the troops for 75 years! Seven of the floats will depict their seven decades of service through décor, costumes and music. All participants are invited to attend the Camp Show at La Villita immediately following the river parade for music, food, drinks and fun! Entertainment will be provided by Patsy Torres, Cleto Rodriguez, and the USO Show Troupe. This is one event you don’t want to miss!!
This is one of the largest Parades held on the River Walk. It is televised live in San Antnonio on KMYS CW 35 and then replayed on WOAI and KABB around the 4th of July. It is syndicated in over 80 markets throughout the United Sates including the Pentagon Channel.
